Gfinity announces partnership with EA SPORTS™ FIFA 18 for Gfinity FIFA 18 US Spring Cup


Gfinity is delighted to announce the launch of the Gfinity FIFA 18 US Spring Cup in association with EA SPORTS™. The tournament is Gfinity’s first US-based FIFA 18 event. The competition will serve as an official qualifier for the FIFA 18 Global Series, with places in the Global Series Playoffs on offer to the winner of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 tournaments. The competition is free to enter and exclusive to gamers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The live finals will take place on the weekend of 12th May 2018 with confirmation of the venue to follow.

Registration for all competitive FIFA players will open on 11th April 2018 at with single elimination tournaments for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 starting on Sunday 15th April and the subsequent matches taking place every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday until Sunday 29th April 2018.

After this date, the eight players with the most G-Points (earned by playing and winning matches) for each platform will be invited to the Gfinity FIFA 18 US Spring Cup Live Finals on 12th-13th May 2018. The prizes on offer for these players will be a share of the $30,000 prize pool, a place in the Global Series Playoffs and a chance to compete at the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018, a tournament which takes place alongside the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.

The Gfinity FIFA 18 US Spring Cup is an accredited official EA SPORTS™ FIFA 18 Global Series qualifier as EA brings competitive FIFA to millions of fans around the world through the EA SPORTS™ FIFA 18 Global Series on The Road to the FIFA eWorld Cup 2018 in August 2018.
