Gfinity appointed as Official Partner of the International Women’s Day FIFA Invitational

Gfinity (AIM: GFIN), a world-leading esports and gaming solutions provider, is proud to announce it has been appointed to deliver the International Women’s Day FIFA Invitational, a celebratory but important event that supports female representation in the esports and gaming world.

The International Women’s Day FIFA Invitational will be an all-women FIFA tournament, comprised of eight female competitors ranging from pro-gamers like Lisa Manley to sportswomen such as Georgia Stanway and Elisha N’Dow. The contestants will battle it out in a knockout competition on EA Sports’ FIFA 21. Each match-up will be made up of one leg, except for the final which will be a ‘best of three’ format.

As an Official Partner of the event, Gfinity will be responsible for broadcast production, as well as the development and execution of the tournament operations, via its proprietary tournament management platform.

The show will broadcast live from the Gfinity Esports Studio, presented by Rachel Stringer, Samantha Miller and Fran Kirby at 5pm GMT on Monday, 8th March. The event will be available to stream on EA’s official FIFA Twitch channel and it will also feature on the Twitch homepage.

Amanda Lawson, Gfinity Head of Content said: “We are delighted to be bringing an all female FIFA tournament to the masses on International Women’s Day. The female video gaming community is growing year on year and a key focus for Gfinity is to raise the visibility of female gamers and to create a more inclusive environment to play, compete or simply watch.”
