Gfinity (AIM: GFIN), a world-leading esports solutions provider, today announces it has been appointed by Red Bull as the production partner for ‘Red Bull Kumite London’. Red Bull Kumite London is an exciting new two-day tournament and the next instalment of the prestigious fighting game series.
The event will be live-streamed over the 22nd and 23rd May 2021 from the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, and is the latest partnership between Gfinity and Red Bull, following the successful ‘Red Bull World’s Simplified’ digital show last year. The event forms part of Gfinity’s strategic pillar to build communities for publishers, sports rights-holders, brands and media organisations across the gaming sector.
Red Bull Kumite London is a high-stakes invitational event and one of the first major Street Fighter V tournaments of 2021. It will bring together 16 of the best Street Fighter V competitors to battle it out, streamed live on Red Bull’s official Twitch and YouTube channels across both days. First launched in Paris in 2018, the competition moved to Japan in 2019, before heading to London for the 2021 edition. This year’s event will also include a showcase of the new fighting game Guilty Gear Strive ahead of its official release in June 2021.
Red Bull Kumite London will open on Saturday 22nd May with a four-hour special showcase of the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive before the Street Fighter V tournament commences on Sunday. The event will be available to watch live on twitch.tv/redbull and youtube.com/redbullgaming.
Amanda Lawson, Gfinity Global Head of Content said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Red Bull once again as production partner for Kumite London. Fighting games are part of Gfinity’s DNA and since the launch of our Elite Series in 2017, we have focused on delivering the most compelling and content rich Streetfighter broadcasts to the masses.
“With this being the first ever UK based Kumite event, our stream will deliver a local feel with global appeal and we are excited to bring non-stop action to fans across the weekend showcasing all the hype and excitement they would expect from such a prestigious event.”
This is the latest partnership between Gfinity and Red Bull, following the ‘Red Bull World’s Simplified’ digital show last year.
Gfinity is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Preising to the new role of Chief Revenue and Transformation Officer.
The first week of the championship has come to an end and we’ve already seen plenty of action.
